In September 2000 LTE Logistik- und Transport- GmbH was founded by the partners Porr Infrastruktur GmbH and Graz-Köflacher Eisenbahn GmbH with the aim, to establish an independent rail transportation company with achievements in railway tranportations on the opening market for free competetion of railway transportations.

The decision to found LTE Logistik- und Transport GmbH happened after establishing the corresponding legal requirements based on rating the situation of the previous railway transportation market, which was structured monopolistic, because of a high need for alternative transportation provider.

LTE got the concession for supplying rail transportations in goods- and passenger traffic on narrow- and standard gauge in June 2001.

From this time on LTE provides as independent rail transportation company transportation services in the area of rail freigt services, whereat the emphasis is lying on transnational rail freigt services.

Because of national differentiations of the European railway systems in technics, administration, company management and language LTE tries to realize cross-border transports with suitable co-operation partners from the particular bordering countries. if there can't be found a suitable co-operation partner, LTE tries to find a partner in the particular bordering country. LTE Slovakia s.r.o. from Slovakia is the suitable subsidiary company, which is the first private rail transportation company in Slovakia since 2003.

LTE forceful follows the aim of maximization of quality and efficiency in the transboundary railway transportation service.

For traction LTE only uses state-of-the-art diesel-engined and electric locomotives including the latest technology, to ensure 100% operational readiness. Furthermore the "borderless" applicability of the locomotives is primary importance for the LTE: So our traction vehicles cover trains from our customers in Austria and also transboundary in Germany, the Czech Rebublic, Slovakia and Hungary and therefor ensure a maximum of quality and efficiency.

To strengthen the quality of the sequence of operations regarding to a safe railway transport as well as regarding to the customer's satisfaction, LTE has inducted the quality management system ISO 9001 and SQAS, also in tune with the aims of the alliance "European Bulls".
